New Board Members
Newly elected members Jonathan J. Larsen and Norma J. Williams enhance fundraising efforts, visibility to support hospital’s mission
LOS ANGELES (July 11, 2022) — California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) Foundation is honored to welcome Norma J. Williams and Jonathan J. Larsen to its Board of Directors. Norma and Jonathan will lend their extensive leadership and professional experiences to advance the foundation’s fundraising efforts, raise awareness about Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center, increase diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, and expand access to the hospital’s programs and services to communities across Los Angeles.
Jonathan is a member of Avison Young’s global leadership team and U.S. Executive Committee. As leader of Avison Young’s Downtown Los Angeles office, he oversees delivery of all services to clients, develops new business and recruits additional talent to enhance local service offerings on a global basis. Jonathan specializes in representing tenants for all their office and industrial real estate needs, and is an expert in various types of transactions such as leasing, sale/leasebacks and investment sales throughout the United States.
A real estate executive with over 33 years of experience, he has been recognized on numerous occasions as a top commercial real estate broker by CoStar, Connect Media, Bisnow and the Los Angeles Business Journal, and has completed many of the largest leases and sales across the country. Jonathan has been selected as one of the 500 most influential people in Los Angeles the last seven years by the Los Angeles Business Journal.
Jonathan received his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Washington, and his graduate degree in law from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, magna cum laude.
Norma is a commercial real estate attorney with more than 35 years of experience at Williams & Associates, a premier boutique commercial real estate law firm in Los Angeles and previously, at major law firms. Norma’s practice is in structuring, negotiation, documentation and closing of commercial real estate financing, purchase, sale and leasing transactions, and entity-related matters ancillary to real estate transactions.
Her honors include “Outstanding Real Estate Lawyer” from the Real Property Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association (2022); the inaugural “Excellence in Practice” Award from the Solo and Small Firms Section of the California Lawyers Association (2019); “Outstanding Entrepreneur Award” from the US Small Business Administration et al (2016); and a Commercial Real Estate Women-Los Angeles “Women at the Top” Award (2011). She has been nominated as a Southern California Super Lawyer for 16 consecutive years since 2006. She is a frequent speaker and writer on commercial real estate law topics, has published over 50 articles and has held leadership positions in local, state and national commercial real estate bar associations.
Norma received her bachelor’s degree, magna cum laude, from Wesleyan University, where she was also elected to Phi Beta Kappa. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of California, Berkeley.
