California Hospital Medical Center Foundation welcomes two new board members

LOS ANGELES (September 30, 2024) – California Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) Foundation is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its Board of Directors: Reginald Jones, MD and Mariel Waller. These esteemed individuals bring a wealth of experience and dedication to the foundation's mission of supporting Dignity Health - California Hospital Medical Center in advancing community health and health equity.

Dr. Reginald JonesDr. Reginald Jones, Chair of the Department of Surgery and  trauma surgeon at Dignity Health – California Hospital Medical Center, embodies the spirit of giving back to the community. Born at CHMC, Dr. Jones has dedicated his career to serving the same community where he grew up, facing adversity and striving for excellence. His commitment to inspiring future generations is evident in his work with organizations like Crossroads, Inc., which combats recidivism and gang violence. Dr. Jones earned his MD from Howard University  College of Medicine and bachelor's from California State University Dominguez Hills.

Mariel Waller brings over 25 years of experience in marketing and sales management to theMariel Waller foundation. With a diverse background spanning international companies like KPN and Unilever to entrepreneurial ventures and consulting roles, Mariel possesses a deep understanding of marketing planning and execution. Her expertise in digital and social media marketing will be invaluable as CHMC Foundation continues to expand its reach and impact. She currently serves as Marketing Manager at LightWerks Communication Systems. Mariel earned her MBA and bachelor's in business administration from the Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University in the Netherlands.
